APPROACH

I help individual clients configure their systems, improve their skills and upgrade their technology, if needed.

To develop a picture of how I can help you most, we will spend an hour or two talking about your systems and your wants and needs.
Based on the picture, I will draft a customized plan of action to guide us - for your approval.

What training is required? Is your system up to date?
Do you need to buy hardware of software?
Do we need to create and install a procedure for using your systems etc.?

We will go over the plan, step by step, so that we both agree on what I can do to help you.
We will execute the plan, together at our agreed-upon pace of work.

At first, I work with you by telephone. We will use other communications technologies (email, text, video conference, etc.) as I teach you to use them effectively. These technologies let me see how you are using the system. (Your grandchildren will be amazed.)

Regardless of the complexity of the plan, the assignment will not be complete complete until the plan has been executed.

Your technology is working properly in a stable, predictable manner.
Your data, (e.g. files, usernames, passwords) are loaded into your system.
Procedures exist for you to use the system.
You have confidence that you can use the new system(s).
You are able to keep your systems up to date.

Experience

As an IT professional, I spent the last 25 years of my career helping large organizations on Wall Street in healthcare, and in higher education install and use computer systems to make it easier to conduct daily activities.

One of my specialties was training staff — non-tech people like you — make the transition to using the newly automated systems.

Now that I am retired, I have the time and passion to help seniors like you set up your home technology and learn to use it – at your convenience – in a way that is useful, easy-to-manage, and secure. I will:

Explain how things work.
Answer all your questions.
Walk you through how to use your technology.

SECURITY METHODS

My service is personal and confidential. My method is to teach you how to control your system. I never get access to your data, or accounts or passwords. Rather than me setting up your systems, my methodology is to teach you how to control your critical, private data. After our work is complete, you will have the ability to change all of your passwords as you see fit for your protection, multiple times if you want.
